This update is part of the Provincial nominee draws hub, with the Permanent residence guide. New Brunswick issued 678 invitations to workers in priority occupational groups through provincial immigration selections between August 10 and September 18. These invitations were part of the Atlantic Immigration Program and three streams of the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program. The initiative aims to attract in demand workers to the province. Invited candidates can now submit a complete application for nomination or endorsement, which allows them to apply to the federal government for permanent residence.

The province conducted several immigration selections from August 10 to September 18. These targeted workers in education, social and community services, and professional and IT fields. Six selections took place, with three under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program and three under the Atlantic Immigration Program.

Under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program, candidates received invitations through the NB Skilled Worker Stream, the NB Express Entry Stream, and the NB Strategic Initiative Stream. The NBPNP Skilled Worker Stream issued 197 invitations between September 15 and 18. On September 17, the NB Express Entry Stream invited 102 candidates. The NB Strategic Initiative Stream invited 251 candidates on September 11.

Separately, New Brunswick conducted three Atlantic Immigration Program selections between August 10 and September 10, issuing a total of 128 invitations. Sixty invitations were issued on September 10, and 68 invitations were issued on August 10 and August 20.

The 678 invitations targeted workers in occupational groups including education, social and community services, professional and IT, construction, manufacturing, other trades, sales and services, and transportation. Cut off dates for these selections included September 13, 2026, for the Skilled Worker and Express Entry streams, September 8, 2026, for the Strategic Initiative Stream, September 9, 2026, for the September 10 AIP round, and August 9 and August 19, 2026, for the August 10 and August 20 AIP rounds.

The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program offers several pathways. The New Brunswick Graduates pathway is for international graduates of eligible in province study programs working full time for an eligible provincial employer or with an accepted offer. The New Brunswick Experience pathway targets individuals living and working in the province for an eligible employer with at least six months of full time work experience. The Employment in New Brunswick pathway targets Express Entry candidates who have lived in New Brunswick for at least 12 months and worked full time in a TEER 0 to 3 position for a New Brunswick employer during that period.

Additional NBPNP pathways include the Francophone Workers in New Brunswick pathway for French speaking foreign nationals working for an eligible provincial employer in a full time position or with a job offer, who have lived in the province for at least six months or received their job offer through a special recruitment mission. The New Brunswick Francophone Priorities pathway targets French speaking foreign nationals with priority connections to New Brunswick, such as francophone graduates of eligible post secondary programs or candidates invited by Immigration New Brunswick. The Atlantic Immigration Program is an employer led permanent residence pathway for foreign nationals with a job offer from a designated employer in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island. This offer must be endorsed by the province, and the foreign national must meet basic requirements for language, work experience, education, and settlement funds.

Workers endorsed through the Atlantic Immigration Program can apply to the federal government for an employer specific work permit. Provincial nominees may be eligible for a bridging open work permit after submitting their permanent residence application. As of June 9, 2026, nominees applying for permanent residence through a base Provincial Nominee Program stream can benefit from a faster process to apply for a bridging open work permit, qualifying before receiving the Acknowledgement of Receipt for their permanent residence application. Invited candidates can now respond with a complete application for nomination or endorsement, then apply to the federal government for permanent residence.
